  Carlee Bears Writing 105 Assignment 3 Text 2   Every week new people come into the gym I grew up in with the intention of becoming a better athlete. Their goal is to strive for perfection within their sport and improve athletically. If these new athletes stay in the gym for enough time they may realize the community, family, and life altering experience they may find within it. When I was younger, I aimlessly joined a competitive cheer gym following in my sister's footsteps. I did not grasp how dramatically this simple decision would change my life. This community altered the course of my life and provided for me so many experiences and traits that are crucial to who I am today. Unit 3 Pitch Sharing

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwZ1vT7T_mg This video shows the dedication and commitment that cheer takes. Competitive cheer is extreme and can be exhausting and physically/mentally draining. Therefore, when people say this type of cheer is not a sport it shows that they have not seen or researched it at all. Cheer is much more than people think and goes beyond sideline and cheering for another team.

Unit 2 Assignment

  Discourse is a very complex concept in which it presents a plethora of meanings behind it. Depicting countless experiences and life-altering occurrences in everyday life. Discourse shapes our culture and develops belonging in the world. Discourse presents us with our key values and shapes our views on the world. It develops our personality and forms our sense of individuality. I would consider my main sense of belonging and discourse to be in the hands of the sport that I have participated in my whole life. I have been cheerleading sense the young age of 5 and have shaped my life around my participation and involvement in the sport. Specifically, I had two discourses clash when I obtained a significant head injury my freshman year of high school. The clashing discourse between my pursuit of success in cheerleading and the inherent risk of injury underscores the need for a balanced approach that values my health without compromising my athletic ambitions.    ...

Without this there would be a lack of personalization and a shearing sense of belonging for all beings. Discourse presents us with our key values and shapes our views on the world. This morphs our beliefs to be different than others and forms our sense of individuality. As individuals with versatile personalities, we belong to many different discourses to form who we are as people. Our identities/personalities are formed through our incorporation of discourse. Community, culture, identification, personality, and overall existence, being formed through discourse makes it unrecognized throughout our lives.
